Cornea Specialist: “Eyes have Scarring”

Ryan went to an appointment yesterday to a cornea specialist.  He developed a white area, about the size of a thumb tack, over each pupil despite constant lubrication and drops.  It almost looked like he developed cataracts.

As it turns out, Ryan’s cornea — in both eyes — was eroding due to excessive dryness.  He simply wasn’t making complete blinks. If it continued he would eventually lose vision and be susceptible to infections.

The prognosis is he will recover over time, but the scarred area will need repaired. It’s likely his vision is foggy, assuming he can see otherwise.  Treatment will be to continue ointments and drops, and also add “humidity chambers”.  Humidity chambers are really nothing more that glorified swim goggles.

Ryan is scheduled for a follow-up appoint in two weeks to check the improvement.

Jesus said to him, “Recieve your sight; your faith has healed you.” Immediately he recieved his sight and followed Jesus, praising God. When all the people saw it, they also praised God.” Luke 18:42

I pray, Lord, please completely restore Ryan’s sight, and also bless the Divineys and all of us with the miracle of Ryan’s smile. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

    God bless you, Diviney family!!!!!!!

I wondered about that, since I have dry eyes, especially when I read or use the computer and forget to blink. Word of caution: please be careful with the brand of drops. I am allergic to all drops except Systane Ultra. They are the best. Even though there are “Preservative Free” drops, there is another component to most drops that causes a reaction — namely infection. I have Sjogren’s Syndrome, which eliminates tears and saliva. I wish I had mentioned this sooner, but pray there is no permanent damage to Ryan’s eyes.. Cateracts can be removed. Love and prayers.
