In just over one month, this blog has exceeded 100,000 views! It is popular beyond my wildest imagination.  My deepest and sincerest appreciation to all who follow it. It let’s me know that Ryan remains relevant; and that means more than I can express in words.

I am having a great time writing it. Like I said, I do it as much for my own mental well-being as I do for the readers.  It’s good to laugh at myself again. It was too long.

The popularity has prompted me to look into a more powerful platform. I have contacted a friend to see if he might help. I’d like to add some new features that just aren’t possible with WordPress (current host) without paying for upgrades, like video and sponsorship.

Again, thank you all so much for the love and support.

    Ken,

I am one of the 100,000 who checks in on Ryan and all of you on a daily basis, continuing to keep you all in my prayers. I’m thankful you at least have this site as an outlet for you – and I do love your sense of humor! I don’t post that often, but yes, I am still here and still praying. (From a former co-West Brancher – but I’m “way” younger, haha, and my Gram sat behind your family in church for years! :))

  2. The whittiers says:

I have looked at your sight everyday sine I saw you on tv… I am so proud of how you guys have managed to hold yourselfs together… You guys are amazing…..

  3. Jo Hobbs says:

Omigosh, I had no idea! Guess I have to “smarten up” and make really thought-out, intelligent comments with correct grammer usage, puntuation (is “thought-out hyphenated? Please, students, look it up!)… … LOL Just kidding, but who would have guessed the number of views here to be more than 100,000? I am stunned, to say the least! And many of us have been with you since the beginning. We have expressed our hopes, dreams of a well Ryan, and concerns and love for the Diviney family. You have been given suggestions and advice out of our attention to everything RYAN and for his comfort. We were so worried about your mental and physical health, and we thank God for your humor here. I don’t honestly know how you do it, and I hope we can send some your way, too. We look forward to news of Ryan, sometimes hour to hour, when he is ill or hospitalized. Most of the comments are so inspirational, I don’t need to read my little book of “inspirations” every morning to feed my soul. We are indebted to you, Ken and Sue, for keeping us updated now and in the past. God is blessing us. Still here with love.

  4. Peggie says:

Happy to be one of the many continuing in prayful support for Ryan’s healing and for your family’s continued strength! Love, Peggie

  5. Susanne says:

    Dear Divineys,
There is no doubt that through Ryan you are making a huge difference, not only in his life, but the thousands of lives you touch and inspire each day. When one suffers, we all suffer. If we have all of these people reading daily, just image the steady stream of prayers being offered up each day for your family. May God’s love and hugs surround you today as we hope for the miracle of Ryan’s healing. The struggles your family endures remind me of how much we need God and his unlimited resources to fix our human everyday lives. May you feel HIS presence today!

  6. Kathryn Beggs Howlett says:

From the day you began this blog there was a change in your “tone”, and it was so heartwarming! No doubt this is a wonderful outlet for you. There may be a hint here in this blog’s success…..different platform, writing something “bigger”, perhaps public announcement messages on violence/violence on campuses, or on TBI, or ? Just keep it up! It is clear to see the “healing” it has done for you, and when you are healthier, Ryan and the rest of your family will be healthier too. Way to go Ken! My hope is that someday, when Ryan opens his eyes and smiles, I can come visit my niece and perhaps visit you and your family, and shake the hands of two very strong men, and hug two lovely women. (OK, I’ll hug the guys too!)

  7. Yes, Ken- Ryan is still very relevant. EVERDAY I post a link to your blog on our daily prayer email that goes out to the Yes! Grace Rocks prayer group which is made up of school librarians and friends from all over the USA.

May God equip you with all means necessary to continue to raise awareness of TBI, faith, hope, courage, determination and love. Prayers continue for Ryan’s full recovery.
    Jane

    Ken,
I am one of the librarians from the YGR prayer group and I follow you regularly. May God bless you and your family for the “service” you give to each of us as we follow your story with Ryan and pray for him (and you and yours) everyday. There is a reward waiting for you from our heavenly Father and He loves you and yours more than any of us can ever know. Thanks again for all you do and for keeping all of us informed!
    Love in Christ,
    Donna

  13. Jill in Morgantown says:

Don’t ever doubt for a second that we all feel Ryan is “relevant”. I’ve been on this site everyday since your family started RyansRally.org. I don’t know your family personally, but like so many out there, I feel a connection. Still here, still praying in FRIGID Morgantown.

  14. Will says:

Glad you reached such a significant number of reader’s. And in that we are praying for Ryan’s healing and for all of Ryan’s family. Since we are all in Christ we are true Brother’s and Sister’s in Him. So I guess we make up one BIG Diviney Family. A family grounded in charity, hope and love.

  17. Trish Traylor says:

Congratulations! I am not at all surprised at that number, and I am sure there are millions more thoughts and prayers daily that you are unable to “count”! Thank you for sharing your son in such a meaningful and powerful way. I like to think of it as the Mountaineer Way. Constant prayers, from our Mountaineer Family to yours.

  18. Colleen Brunelle says:

Hearing your story on the Today Show made Ryan relevant to me. I’m extremely touched that you continue to share yours’ and Ryans’ story with all of us. I am praying for good news from the IBRF. I check this site a couple times a day until I see a new update on Ryan. I hope his arm is healing ok. I love the wallpaper behind the blog, it shows the true meaning and love of a Father and Son. I’m always thinking about your family and praying for good news. Please include updates of Ryan along with all your funny stories. They make us all feel better that you’re keeping your sense of humor. It’s gotta be hard under the circumstances. As a parent I know that I wouldn’t do anything different, but at the same time, I can’t imagine what it must be like day after day. Stay strong and we’ll all stay here!! You’re never alone!

  19. Carla Liberty says:

SHSP, Diviney family 🙂 Please don’t ever think you and Ryan are not relevant…My goodness so many of us lift you in prayer many times daily, along with checking on this site and FB for progress reports. I have to admit, along with the others, Ken, that you have really got the gift of story-telling, and the humor is an added bonus for all of us. 🙂

Sending love and hugs from just down the road….

    ❤ carla

  20. Debra Blankers says:

Congrats Ken on over 100K hits. Ryan is and always will be relevant to so many of us. The first thing I do in the morning before I do anything else is to check in on Ryan. Throughout the day I check in on him and before I go to bed at night I check in on him through Facebook and your blog. You, Sue, Ryan and Kari are always in my thoughts and prayers. I hope Ryan is having a peaceful day today. LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!

  21. Karen says:

Through your words, there is so much about your family that is genuine that it touches a place inside of us and make us feel so connected and able to relate to you. I cannot close my eyes at night if I haven’t checked in on Ryan first. I often check in again before I start my day if there hasn’t been a late night post. Some days I have fallen to my knees overwhelmed with helplessness in your struggles and frustration, asking God to keep all of you close to him and reward you with even the smallest bit of progress to get you through the day. Other days you have us laughing at your perception of the events of the day because you actually just said out loud (in a colorful sort of way!) what everyone was thinking! By you inviting us to share in Ryan’s recovery through your eyes, has humbled many of us and allowed us to see that although it’s not easy, good does prevail over evil. Thank you for all of the updates and may you all continue to have renewed strength each day. You are such a great advocate for Ryan and you & Sue make such a great team. I look forward to the day the Ryan can continue your blog and tell us some colorful details of his own about this journey you are on!

  22. Beth Quesnell says:

Ken, we read it every day!

  23. Keith (In Morgantown) says:

I am like the others i check this out each and everyday and continue to Check on how everyone is doing. You are inspiring to all! And I agree with Suzanne when you all suffer we do right with you! May God Bless You All Each And Every Day!

  24. Nancy Tawney says:

Yay!!! 100,000 and I am one of them! I still check on Ryan and the family daily, and of course still praying for his recovery and for the strength for you all to be able to continue to do what you do!

  25. Dawn says:

I too have followed your blog since it was originally posted to facebook and have followed Ryan’s story since that life altering October night . I am graduating with a Masters in Social Work from WVU this May and am currently working with the Traumatic Brain Injury program at WVU Center for Excellence in Disabilities. I am planning to continue working in the TBI field after graduation. Your blog provides me with information on treatments, strategies, and insight that I would never have on my own. Thank you for all that you do and the unconditional love that abounds in your family.
